Here is a funny game diary someone wrote. Has plenty of Duke bashing so that’s good. Could have been a little more unbiased though, and included Carolina hating as well.

Here is the audio from the Cowherd comment yesterday.
Rondo is back up a few notches on the latest 2006 NBA draft boards. He is now listed at #14 on nbadraft.net.
ESPN Radio’s Colin Cowherd comment during his “Monday Morning Riff” segment:
“Kentucky basketball lost on senior day for only the 5th time in 86 years. Florida beat’em. Say what you want, Tubby Smith is just not good enough.”
During the game yesterday Rondo and Al Horford exchanged a few words after Horford hung on the rim and bumped Rondo on the way down. It was pretty obvious what Rondo said to him (see last post), especially when CBS showed it in slow-motion replay. When something like that happens the announcers usually try to play it off by making a joke as to what they were talking about. So this gave me an idea. Maybe not a good one, but an idea nonetheless. What are some other things that they could have been saying?
Such as:
- You get dubs on your Denali? Me too.
- You and Walsh still together? (Come on, I had to do it since the “gay” chant reappeared in Rupp yesterday)
All in good fun of course.
Fu*k you
-Rondo to Al Horford
Kentucky couldn’t put it all together today and lost in blowout fashion for the second time to the Florida gators this season. Joakim Noah has completely owned us in both of those games as well. The most success the Cats had today against Noah was when Rondo guarded him. You wouldn’t think that a team with 28 feet 3 inches of center would have to play so much small ball but that’s the way this season has turned out.
In one of the few bright spots, Joe Crawford scored a stealthy 21 points. Patrick couln’t get going today and wasn’t a factor on either end of the court. Up next, Ole Miss on Thursday.
The despised Florida Gators roll into Rupp on Sunday. This particular Florida team has several of the most personally annoying players of any team in the country. From the chest thumping Joakim Noah to Corey Brewer, Billy Donovan has had some players that get under your skin when you watch them. Here are some that stick out over the years.
- Matt Walsh
- Anthony Roberson
- Matt Bonner
- Brett Nelson
- Mike Miller
- Udonis Haslem
- Teddy Dupay
The Cats are -3.5. I hope Kentucky can pull off a Florida is the new #1 type thrashing.
Despite their best efforts to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, Kentucky somehow comes away with the win. Even though we shot the lights out in the second half, it felt like we were down 20 the whole time. Why can’t they just get the ball in? It’s very frustrating to watch when they are pushing 4.7 seconds to inbound the ball every time. They also had a 10 second call. I haven’t seen one of those in a while, and Rondo wasn’t even handling the ball.
Speaking of Rondo, it looks like he decided he wanted to play tonight. He had four or five drives to the basket in about a four minute span. He’s pretty impressive in that respect. It seems like he can turn that part of his game on or off at will. Paired with his defensive skills, that has to be why he is listed so high on the draft boards.
It was a big game for Randolph as well. He finally looked like the dominating force he was supposed to be all along. I think he scored 8 or 10 straight points for us during one stretch of the game.
This just wasn’t Ravi Moss’ night though. When Tom Hammond said that Ravi picked up his second foul, I couldn’t believe it. It seemed like he had at least four at that point. I haven’t looked at the stats but he had to have been involved in a minimum of five turnovers.
Brandon Stockton may just be the smartest basketball player on the team. He doesn’t really make any stupid mistakes(see 10 second call above), and he is always hustling(see end of game). This should put to rest any of that NIT talk. Go Cats!
*update* I just realized when I read back through this post I sounded more negative than Tim Woodburn. Sorry about that, but I thought it was just a hard game to watch.
A lot of people believe this is a make or break game for Kentucky. There is no doubt, if it isn’t a “must win”, it’s a “man I really, really want to win this game” game. It would be nice to put this one away convincingly but I won’t wish for that. Nope, I’m just hoping that if it comes down to a last-second shot, that Tubby is using Jared Carter to hold Sheray down on the bench.
A couple of things need to happen in this game. When I say need, it simply means that this is what I would like to see happen. I’m not trying to break it down and give you the Dawhares, Keys to the Game. We need to make Chris Lofton look human again. Tubby, come on don’t let him beat you. If Lofton single-handedly beats us again, there will be people trying to jump off the 5/3 building downtown screaming “Tubby can’t recruit” all the way down.

Also, is there anyway we can take Bruce Pearl out of the game? How about Brandon Stockton diving out of bounds to save a ball and hitting Pearl in the groinial region? Is that to much to ask? I don’t think so. Sorry about that, I was channeling those fans that want Bob Huggins as the next coach. Anyhow, wouldn’t Bruce Pearl be one of the greatest used car salesmen ever? I mean he already has the jacket. We’ve heard he can be very motivational. Seems perfect to me.
